Growing up in Southern California, Eric was introduced to climbing through his father Doug Odenthal who lit the flame. Since those early years he has developed a number of areas in the San Bernardino mountains with the Rim of the World Climbing Club. Along with Brad Singer, Eric developed around 300+ routes in the SB's. His passion for climbing brought him to Moab where he has found a passion for photography and climbing anything... even if it does crumble away.

After living his first year in the beautiful Moab desert, Eric Odenthal has learned about the fine art of climbing choss, replacing anchors and shooting photos in some of the most remote canyons around Moab. He loves being outside with friends and it's hard to make him rest. Eric will go on and on until his body breaks down... full on bonk... a bonk not even cliff bars can bring him out of. He says the summits are what drives him and it may be true, but his psyche is what makes it happen.
